Participant and Parental Guidelines

Participant Vendor Requirements

We’re thrilled to welcome young entrepreneurs to our marketplace! To ensure every child has a successful and enjoyable experience, please review the following guidelines:

Age Requirement: Participants must be between 6 and 16 years old.

Independence: Children should be able to manage their booth with minimal parent involvement. Parents may assist as needed, but kids should be comfortable handling the following on their own:

  • Preparing and creating their products or services
  • Designing simple marketing materials (flyers, signs, etc.)
  • Taking orders, fulfilling them, and answering customer questions
  • Accepting payments and giving change
  • Sales should only occur when the participant is present at their booth

Children with disabilities: We’re proud to create a marketplace where every child has the chance to shine. Children with disabilities or special needs are warmly encouraged to participate. If extra support is helpful, parents are welcome to step in and assist, allowing each child to enjoy the experience with confidence. Just let us know at check-in, and we’ll be happy to accommodate their needs.

Parent’s Guidelines

Thank you for supporting your child’s journey as a young entrepreneur! To make this event a rewarding and fun experience for everyone, we kindly ask parents to follow these guidelines:

Customer Interaction

  • Children should take the lead in running their booth. Please allow them to answer customer questions, take orders, and handle payments.
  • Parents may step in with gentle guidance if needed, but customer interactions are meant to be part of the child’s learning experience.

Booth & Event Presence

  • Parents must remain at the venue during the event. Please ensure any accompanying adults are also familiar with these guidelines.

Products & Payments

  • All products and services should be created or provided by the child. Parents are welcome to offer encouragement and advice, but items for sale should be the child’s own work.
  • For service-based businesses (such as face painting or dog walking), children should also design their own marketing materials.
  • If using a payment app, please help your child practice in advance so they feel confident during the event.

Behavior Expectations

  • Staying in the background allows your child to gain the most from this hands-on experience.

Fair Participation

These guidelines are designed to help every child learn, grow, and enjoy the experience. If they are not followed, it may limit your child’s ability to participate in future events. We appreciate your partnership in making this marketplace a positive and supportive environment for all.
